Hocking Hills in Ohio's Miami Valley is a great destination for last minute getaways for nature lovers. Located only two hours away from the city of Dayton, the area offers a massive horseshoe-shaped cave to explore, gently cascading waterfalls, and even zipline rides through the forest. There are miles of wildflower-lined hiking trails, with Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave Gorge, Ash Cave Rim, Conkle's Hollow, Rock House and Cantwell Cliffs among the most popular hiking destinations.

There are also many picnic facilities in the area, and some trails are even wheelchair accessible. Lake Logan is also a prime fishing spot featuring plentiful northern pike, bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish and saugeye. Canoeing, rafting and kayaking are popular activities along the Hocking River, with some torchlight and moonlight tours available.
